Northern Suburbs Junior Rugby Union (NSJRU) is the pathway to Representative rugby for players in the four village clubs making up the Northern Suburbs district – Drummoyne, Hunters Hill, Mosman and Norths Pirates.
Players aged 10 and 11 are developed in the program and play State Cup in July school holidays.
Players aged 12-18 play State Cup Championships on the June long weekend.
For development and representative rugby, a player is required to play in the age group they turn in the calendar year. Players are required to play a minimum of 4 club games over 4 separate Sydney Junior Rugby Union (SJRU) rounds to be eligible for participation in Representative rugby and must commit to play for their club for the whole season. Failure to do so, representative status will be removed.
NSJRU also field teams (U13, U15, U17) for the 7s State Cup Championships played in the September/October school holidays.
We work closely with the Northern Suburbs Rugby Club (“Norths Seniors”). Norths Seniors play in the Shute Shield competition which is the premier club rugby competition in Sydney run by NSW Rugby Union. Shute Shield is a pathway to higher representative honours.
